The Strong Family's story
The Strong family moved to New Zealand 3 years ago and have loved every moment of it. They have a passion for adventure and enjoy giving back to the community wherever they can.
“We’ve always loved helping out in the community,” they say. “Being part of something bigger than ourselves has always mattered to us.”
Although they’ve been volunteering for Diabetes New Zealand less than a year, their impact has already been felt. The family jumped straight into supporting the Bay of Plenty/Lakes Family Camp - a weekend that brings together whānau navigating life with diabetes. From lending a hand wherever needed to helping create a warm, welcoming environment, the Strongs played a key role in making the event a success.
They also support their local Lions Club, long-time partners of Diabetes New Zealand, and speak highly of the dedicated members they’ve met along the way.
For the Strongs, “Seeing the smiles and joy on people’s faces makes it all worthwhile. Knowing we’ve made even a small difference to someone’s day is incredibly fulfilling.”
With every event, every connection, and every moment of service, the Strong family is helping strengthen their new community - one act of kindness at a time and we are so grateful to them for the hours they dedicate, along with their enthusiasm and community spirit.
