Waikato
Type 1 Diabetes support group. For all type 1. This group also includes medical staff who are type 1 and come as ‘people with type 1 diabetes’.
Waikato Type 1 support group meets at 10.00 am on the first Tuesday of each month at Cafe Botannix, Palmers Garden Centre, Rototuna.

Family Support: We also run family support meetings with clients and relatives . This is organised when a client makes a request and we see the need and possibility to help.
Waiariki
Rotorua
Morning Tea every Thursday morning 9.30am-11.30am at the Arawa Bowling Club, Lytton St, Rotorua. Guest speakers, workshops, sharing and discussion. Morning Tea provided. No meeting in January.
Taupō
Meets on the second Monday of each month 10am – 12pm at the Taupo Croquet Club, 3 Rokino Street, Taupo. No meetings in January. The meetings on the second Monday of the month are similar to those that have always been held – i.e. Guest Speaker when possible, Cup of Tea/Coffee, sharing, and socialisation.
Tauranga
Type 1 Adults Coffee Group. February 17 2025, then the second Friday of every month. 10am at The Atrium, 252 Otumoetai Road, Otumoetai.
Eastern Bay of Plenty
Whakatane Community Group is held monthly on Saturdays from 10.30am at the Whakatane Library. These are intended to be workshops for people with pre-diabetes and/or people diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes in the past couple of years or so. Note: The meetings have been paused due to low attendance rates, and will be re-visited in 2026.
Ōpōtiki Community Group meetings currently on hold.
Kawerau Community Group
Meeting on the third Tuesday of each month at the Kawerau Bowling Club. Half-hour session of Tai Chi for beginners from 12:30pm and the ‘main event’ starting at 1pm, wrapping up between 2:30 and 3pm.
Wairarapa
Community Coffee Group held on the last Thursday of every month at the Roseneath Village Hall, High Street, Carterton at 10am. Open to everyone living with diabetes, their support networks and health professionals.
