Waikato

Type 1 Diabetes support group. For all type 1. This group also includes medical staff who are type 1 and come as ‘people with type 1 diabetes’.

Waikato Type 1 support group meets at 10.00 am on the first Tuesday of each month at Cafe Botannix, Palmers Garden Centre, Rototuna.

Family Support: We also run family support meetings with clients and relatives . This is organised when a client makes a request and we see the need and possibility to help.

Huntly Diabetes support group. People living with both type 1 and type 2 diabetes are welcome.

Morning tea is provided. $10.00 per year. Raffle each meeting and a big raffle at the end of year. We also have guest speakers.

Meets every third Wednesday of the month 10.00am at Huntly RSA William Street, Huntly.

Diabetes NZ Taupō Community Group

Type 1 Adults Coffee Group. Second Friday of every month. 10am at The Atrium, 252 Otumoetai Road, Otumoetai.

 

Eastern Bay of Plenty

Diabetes NZ Kawerau Community Group

Meeting on the third Tuesday of each month at the Kawerau Bowling Club. Half-hour session of Tai Chi for beginners from 12:30pm and the ‘main event’ starting at 1pm, wrapping up between 2:30 and 3pm. Guest speakers, workshops, sharing and discussion. Contact Karen Reed: karen@diabetes.org.nz

Wairarapa

Community Coffee Group held on the last Thursday of every month at the Roseneath Village Hall, High Street, Carterton at 10am. Open to everyone living with diabetes, their support networks and health professionals.
