We also have an Award to encourage young New Zealanders with diabetes to achieve their goals despite the daily challenges they face living with the condition.

The Awards are: The Sir Charles Burns Memorial Award, the Silver Medal Award (launched in 2021), the Diabetes NZ Award, the John McLaren Youth Awards, and the Diabetes NZ Life Membership.

Entries for the Sir Charles Burns Memorial Award are open year round. All other award entries open in August and close the first week of September.  Winners will be announced in our magazine Diabetes Wellness, in our e-newsletters Connect and Kaha’s Connect, and on Facebook and Instagram in October/ November.
