Healthy Homemade Muesli

Ingredients 

  • 340g whole oats 

  • 1kg rolled oats 

  • 100g coconut thread 

  • 90g wheatgerm 

  • 160g sunflower seeds 

  • 170g flax seeds 

  • 170g sesame seeds 

  • 120g oat bran 

  • 1/4 - 1/3 cup canola oil 

Variations 

  • Add chopped raw fruit or berries for added sweetness 

  • Serve with low-fat milk and/or unsweetened probiotic yoghurt 


Directions:

  1. Mix all the dry ingredients in a large bowl. 

  2. Add the oil and mix thoroughly. 

  3. Microwave the mixture: A total of 15 minutes on high (900-watt microwave). Stir well every three to four minutes of cooking time. 

  4. Allow to cool and enjoy! 

Serves: 30. Nutritional values are approx. 80g or 2/3 cup per serving.
