Changes to prescription of needles for insulin syringes and insulin pens

 

From the 1 August 2019 the following changes will occur to the quantity of funded insulin needles.

The maximum quantity of insulin syringes with attached needles and insulin pen needles will be amended in Section B of the Pharmaceutical Schedule. Below are the details of the new quantities available per prescription.

 

Insulin pen needles

a)      Maximum of 200 dev per prescription

b)      Maximum of 100 dev per dispensing

a)      Maximum of 200 dev per prescription

b)      Maximum of 100 dev per dispensing
