Call For Expressions of Interest - NZSSD Medical Director
The NZSSD Excecutive is pleassed to announce that it has received a grant from The New Zealand Diabetes Foundation Inc. for $ 30, 000 to establish the position of NZSSD Medical Director. It is envisaged that the grant will meet the costs of the position for the first 12 months. The NZSSD Executive now invites expressions of interst from indiviudals who would be intersted in this position.
The call for expressions of interst is open ended without a deadline.
Undertake tasks as directed by the NZSSD Executive to announce that
· Be the contact person for medical issues that arise from the media or DNZ
· Provide medical advice to DNZ, when requested
· Alongside the NZSSD Executive, supervise the activities of the NZSSD Secretariat
· Identify financial support for on-going funding of the Medical Director position
· Alongside the NZSSD Executive, ensure that the NZSSD Strategic Plan is adhered to and updated
· To encourage and support diabetes research in New Zealand
· To assist in the development of diabetes guidelines, workforce planning and diabetes training matters
· To assist with Position Statement development
· To assist with the Programme Development for the Annual Conference and
Physicians’ Weekend.
Person Specification
· Member of NZSSD who is held in high regard
· Practising as a specialist diabetologist in New Zealand
· Previously a member of the NZSSD Executive
Medical Director Position
· Responsible to: NZSSD Executive
· Term: 1 year in the first instance
· Payment: $30,000 per annum (this includes expenses)
· Hours per week: negotiable (approximately 8-10)
