Pork Bolognaise

Method

Heat a heavy based pan and lightly spray the pan with oil

Add onion and garlic to the pan and fry for 1 minute. Add the pork mince and oregano and brown the mince. Add tomato paste

Chop tomatoes and add with the juice

Add water and sugar and bring to the boil, reduce heat and simmer for about 20 minutes. Add pepper to taste. Serve over cooked pasta

Variation, add extra chopped vegetables such as celery and peppers.

Ingredients

300g New Zealand Trim Pork mince

Canola oil or rice bran oil spray

2 onions, chopped

1 teaspoon dried oregano

2 tablespoons tomato paste

400g can tomatoes in juice

3/4 cup water

2 teaspoons sugar

Freshly ground black pepper.

Serves 4
