Pork Bolognaise
Method
• Heat a heavy based pan and lightly spray the pan with oil
• Add onion and garlic to the pan and fry for 1 minute. Add the pork mince and oregano and brown the mince. Add tomato paste
• Chop tomatoes and add with the juice
• Add water and sugar and bring to the boil, reduce heat and simmer for about 20 minutes. Add pepper to taste. Serve over cooked pasta
• Variation, add extra chopped vegetables such as celery and peppers.
Ingredients
• 300g New Zealand Trim Pork mince
• Canola oil or rice bran oil spray
• 2 onions, chopped
• 1 teaspoon dried oregano
• 2 tablespoons tomato paste
• 400g can tomatoes in juice
• 3/4 cup water
• 2 teaspoons sugar
• Freshly ground black pepper.
