French onion soup
Serves 4
- 6 large onions, peeled and sliced
- 1 tbsp oil
- 2 tbsp flour
- 1 tsp sugar
- 6 cups low salt beef or vegetable stock
Saute the onions in the oil for 4-5 minutes or until transparent. Add the flour and sugar, mix well. Add the stock and simmer gently for 10-15 minutes or until the onion is totally softened. Serve with a small wholegrain bread roll.
