|Pat has a background in the finance and trustee industries. He lives in Porirua, is a Past President of the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants and is an experienced director. |
His current governance involvements include Te Tumu Paeroa - The Maori Trustee, Te Puni Kokiri and a number of NPO organisations. Pat’s first involvement with Diabetes New Zealand was as Acting Chief Executive for a brief spell in 2011.

Deb has been involved with Diabetes NZ Otago Branch for 15 years and at a national level for the last 5 years, most recently as President. Deb has had a varied background that includes dispute mediation, learning and development, project management, quality improvement and public health. Deb works for the Older Person’s Health, Clinical Support and Community Directorate of Southern District Health Board in a Quality Management role.

|Karen is the President of Diabetes NZ Rotorua Branch and has had type 1 diabetes since I was 10 years old. |
Originally trained in medical biochemistry, and worked in diabetes research; now Karen is a freelance medical writer.

|Craig has an 18 year old daughter with type 1 and has been involved with Diabetes organisations in New Zealand for 11 years.|
He is currently the Chairperson for Diabetes Youth Auckland and also sits on the Diabetes NZ Auckland Branch committee and North Island regional council.

|Liz is a professional non-executive director. Her current directorships include the health insurer, Southern Cross Health Care. |
Liz is a type 1 diabetic, and a past member of the Diabetes Auckland Inc committee. She is a chartered accountant, and uses her accounting skills to chair the Diabetes New Zealand Finance, Audit and Risk Committee.

Catherine is a director of a number of organisations including Chair of the Life Flight Trust with extensive governance and management experience across the public and private sector. She is a chartered accountant.
Catherine has a daughter with type 1 diabetes and is a former board member.
